Please read PROGRAM  to obtain more information; please keep in mind that The First Tee is a national youth development program that utilizes curriculum set out by The National First Tee as explained on www.thefirsttee.org ; our program is for young men and ladies ranging in ages from 9 to 17 years old.  For those ages 4 to 6 we have the Lil Chippers Program ...again look under PROGRAM, and Lil' PLAYers Program for ages 7 to 8 under the PROGRAM column on the left.  The sessions listed below are those who begin at age 9.


Summer 2010 Schedule:
Early registration begins May 5th; register at J.S. Clark Golf Course.

May 24th through May 28th: Drop in practice and play days (members can drop in to get some instruction at 9am on the driving range and then play golf till 1pm/ Thursday evening beginning at 4pm).  For members only, two large range buckets + 9 holes are free for members.  This week is designed to get members prepared for the Summer Season and The First Tee Spring Championship.

May 29th:  First Tee Spring Championship.  This is a Member-Guest event wherein a Member may invite a Guest to play with them in a scramble and skills challenge event.  Entry fee per team is $20.  Shot gun tournament to begin at 8:30am. (May go to a tee time event if we get more than 18 teams). Guests can be parents, grandparents, friends... of any age over 9 years old.  Covers entry fee, range balls, tee gifts, and awards).  To register, contact us at

Membership Information:

Our membership cycle runs from June 1st, of a given year till May 31st the following year.
Par Level Members (Ages 9 & up)*
Birdie & Eagle Level Members (Ages 11 & up)
* PLAYer members that are 8 years old can advance up to Par but must have completed PLAYer programming, or anyone that will turn 9 years old by the end of August 2010.

Anyone wishing to join for January through May 31st, 2010, we are running a special on $25.  That includes free range balls and rounds of golf during scheduled or supervised sessions.  50% discount on green fees and range balls here at Clark Park, 20% discount at all other BREC courses. 

Membership & fees for the  June 1st ,2010- May 31st 2011 year are as posted here:
New Members: $65       Current Members Renewing: $50

Can begin taking new registration or renewals after May 1st; must come to J.S. Clark Golf Course - Home of The First Tee of East Baton Rouge Parish - in order to register.  Pay at Pro Shop Counter with cash, check, or credit card.  Applications will be available by either coming by the Pro Shop and filling it out the day you pay, or we can send one in advance per e-mail: jterry@brec.org .

What does membership entail?
Any open clinic or play day is free; hand-out material will include educational material, shirts according to classification; discounts in green fees at BREC golf courses; discounts to Back Tee Tournaments; eligibility into First Tee events on a state level or nationally.
