Lil Chippers (Ages 4 to 6) and Lil'PLAYers (Ages 7 to 8)

These Programs are for juniors ages 4 to 8 years old and is designed to teach basic and elementary aspects about the game of golf and The First Tee program.
There is no membership into The First Tee per se as there is for Par, Birdie, and Eagle members 9 years and older; so there is no camp or weekly clinics and play days. These are sessions typically held once or twice per month that prepare these young golfers to gain access to certain BREC golf courses.
BREC has policies that only allow certain aged children on to the golf course at certain time; the Lil Chipper Certificate and Lil' PLAYers Certificate allows children access but with some limitations. This program required that for the child to participate, they must have a parent (or approved adult) present at all times.
Parents/Adult role: for a child to participate in the PLAYers program, they must be accompanied by a parent/adult. The parent/adult (even if they have limited golf knowledge) must be present to assist and enable their junior to participate within the sessions. Children can not be dropped off.
Clinics are about an hour and half to two hours in length and a schedule will be posted in PROGRAMS by the end of March 2010. Golf Clubs are not mandatory, but we must be notified in advance if a child needs them for a clinic. Cost per instructional session is $15. The child must pass the judgement of the instructor in order to receive a pass to gain access to a BREC Golf Course.
Update: We had a huge turn-out earlier in the summer for our Lil Chippers and PLAYers. However, due to the crunch on our labor to manage the larger First Tee program, there will not be any Lil Chippers/PLayers sessions until the Summer Programming ends for The First Tee juniors. Lil Chippers will resume in late August; please check back at that time to see the new schedule.
